FYI – Passing on information… Curt Porterfield received a grant and is offering free HazCom type of training to people in the VA and Southern WV area. Contact him – not me.
Virginia Tech Environmental Health & Safety has received federal funding via a Susan Harwood Grant to provide training on Hazardous Chemicals and the OSHA HazCom Standard through October 1, 2019. The principal offering is a Train-the-Trainer program which prepares an attendee to deliver training within their workplace. We also offer a 2-hour “worker-level” program for employers who do not have the resources (or perhaps the need) for an in-house trainer. Training and instructional materials are provided at no cost to the employer or trainee; costs are covered by the grant.
Upcoming Train-the-Trainer Programs:
May 31, June 14, and June 27 at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA
June 6 at the Roanoke Higher Education Center in Roanoke, VA
