It’s not “my way or the highway”, it’s our way that makes us successful. Our way comes from everyone’s willingness to contribute and listen. Very rarely does all the answers come from one individual. That’s why it’s important to share our ideas – even when they seem a little less than perfect.
As safety leaders we need to make certain we’re listening as well. We shouldn’t think that we’re 100% ready just because we did it safely the last time. Every task is a new puzzle and it’s our job to listen in order to make certain the right people place the right pieces at the right times. Our individual and team efforts result in an injury-free task.
