One of the miners who was missing after a roof collapse at the Avery Island salt mine has been found dead, according to the company that operates the mine.

Cargill Deicing Technology reported that the mine’s roof collapsed Monday morning, trapping the miners underground, according to the federal Mine Safety and Health Administration, which oversees underground mining operations across the country.
