Know your Heart Attack Warning Signs If you think you’re having a heart attack, call 9-1-1 or your emergency medical system immediately. Some heart attacks are sudden and intense — the “movie heart attack,” where no one doubts what’s happening. But most heart attacks start slowly, with mild pain or discomfort. Often people affected aren’t sure what’s wrong and end up waiting too long before getting help. Here are signs that can mean a heart attack is happening: • Chest discomfort. Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the center of the chest that lasts more than a few minutes, or that goes away and comes back. It can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain. • Discomfort in other areas of the upper body. Symptoms can include pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach. • Shortness of breath. May occur with or without chest discomfort. • Other signs. Breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or light headedness. The most common heart attack symptom for women is chest pain or discomfort. But women are more likely than men to experience some of the other symptoms, particularly shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting, and back or jaw pain. If you or someone you’re with has chest discomfort, especially with one or more of the other signs, don’t wait longer than a few minutes (no more than 5) before calling for help. Call 9-1-1… Get to a hospital right away. Calling 9-1-1 is almost always the fastest way to get lifesaving treatment.

Work: By Thomas Edison

I am wondering what would have happened to me if some fluent talker had converted me to the theory of the eight hour day and convinced me that it was not fair to my fellow workers to put forth my best efforts in my work. I am glad that the eight-hour day had not been invented when I was a young man.

If my life had been made up of eight-hour days, I do not believe I could have accomplished a great deal. This country would not amount to as much as it has if the young men of fifty years ago had been afraid that they might earn more than they were paid for.

We should all be grateful for the jobs we have (many of the unemployed would love to be in one of our situations) and be thankful for the work that comes with your position – the workload is what keeps us employed. Look for new ways to get more fulfilment from your job – Life is too short to work at a job you hate. If you are not fulfilled it may be time to re-evaluate your position. In the end remember a positive attitude makes all the difference.

It’s a new year, we have 11 months left in it to make a difference – is it time for a new attitude? Life is what you make it… so go ahead, Enjoy Yourself!

We should certainly count our blessings, but we should also make our blessings count. –Neal A. Maxwell

Thanks WK

Personally my thanks for this one… it comes at a good time and bolsters my meaning of life. We all have things that are important to us in life, caring and loving for each other does not have a time clock or punch out after 8 hours….
