More about falls! We really do silly things some times. Honestly I can’t even imagine what was going through this guy’s head as he set up this epic failure. As it relates to us… Do we ever do silly things without thinking about it? Do we error when we’re not actively identifying and controlling all the hazards associated with a job? I think we’re all guilty a little.
Have we ever…
- Hit our self with a hammer?
- Tripped going up the stairs?
- Shut our hand or finger in a door?
- Touched a hot handle or pan while cooking?
- Missed a step or rung descending a ladder or stairway?
All of these seemingly simple things create incident and injury in the world around us; WHY? Because we go about the task WITHOUT the right amount of hazard control. We know a hammer can hurt us, stair risers can trip us, doors can crush our hands/fingers, pans are hot when we’re cooking in them, and missed steps causes falls, but we expose ourselves to them anyway, sometimes creating a little incident or near miss.
Let’s commit to treating the little things as seriously as we treat the big ones!
Today is the only day for safety!
Thanks for the share, PT!
