I’m always looking for good illustrations and masking just seems to be a topic on most everyone’s minds these days. Nobody really wants the virus; in fact, we’re willing to do just about anything to keep from getting it. In the last week or two it has demonstrated its severity in many ways throughout my circles. A senior lady in my church was called home, a fellow teammate was hospitalized, and 5 other friends confirmed positive and are all suffering in different ways from nothing to severe pain and discomforts.
The best thing for us to do is to protect ourselves. We do that by physically distancing ourselves (at least 6 feet) from other. In the event we can’t maintain our “social distance” we need to make certain we and the others we get close to are masked. Our mask protects them and their mask protects us. If people aren’t wearing masks – DON’T GET CLOSE TO THEM!
I’ve said this before… SAFETY ISN’T ALWAYS POPULAR! As safety leaders we need to stay the course regardless of negative opinions and other’s frustrations. Remember, as stated in the picture text above, “NO MASKING MAXIMIZES EXPOSURE, WHEREAS UNIVERSAL MASKING RESULTS IN THE LEAST EXPOSURE.”
