I thought I’d send you the photos of my encounter with an elk on the way to work last winter. I honestly believe the elk escaped with little, if any, injuries. Would you believe there was no damage to the front end? I undercut him at very low speed and he rolled right up into the windshield. I was certainly up close and personal with nature at that point!
He did end up kicking in the passenger side as he scrambled to his feet and fled. Despite the lack of damage to the front end, the car was totaled. I was uninjured.
These may make good safety topics for defensive driving in a lot of areas. While not all of you have animals as big as moose or elk, a deer can do a lot of damage.
