Friends,

Here’s a nugget of goodness for all the over-achievers in the group. This time of the year, my balance comes from sitting in the woods actively doing this thing we like to call deer hunting. Image this: we get up early and layer up for warmth, we travel deep into the woods, we climb onto a stand or into a blind, and then we wait. We sit still and perfectly quiet for hours – a lot of it in the dark. If fact, so dark we can’t even see the hand in front of our face. We hear every sound of God’s beautiful creation while patiently awaiting a first hint of the coming sunrise.

It’s amazing time of rest, relaxation, worship, self-reflection, and excitement. (I am sure there are other worthy adjectives as well.) I say that because we (people in general) need to find how and where they get their balance. Hunting is merely one of many things people can do to keep their proverbial batteries charged.

As for safety today, we need to remember as we approach Christmas some people (most people) tend to become distracted. We need to defend ourselves accordingly when working, playing, driving, and even walking. Let’s let a surprise from someone else ruin our Holidays and or change our lives forever.

Thanks, PT
