Are we visionaries? I would certainly hope so! Do we envision a place where we consider the hazards BEFORE we complete or attempt to complete the task? That’s truly what hazard recognition is about. For years, we’ve treated it like identifying trips, slips, and fall hazards, code violations, PPE needs, etc. That’s recognizing hazards for sure, but we need to get better at recognizing the conditions, behaviors, and attitudes that lead to incident and injury just the same.
All injuries are preventable and remember, there is no job or task so important that we can’t take the time necessary to ensure safety. Let’s make today a ZERO INJURY day.
