Body of man recovered from water on Kerens job site
By Michael Kormos
Multiple agencies including the Navarro County Sheriff’s Office, the Waxahachie Fire Department dive team and numerous Navarro County departments responded to King Sand & Gravel Wednesday afternoon on SE County Road 4095 near Kerens after an employee of the company drove a dump truck into a body of water. The driver’s body was recovered but the cause of death is still under investigation.
According to Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner, the driver, an adult male, has been recovered but his name has not been released at this time due to notification of next of kin.
Tanner said Justice of the Peace Pct. 3 Jackie Freeland ordered an autopsy and will continue the investigation.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration of Dallas, which works to prevent death, illness, and injury from mining, was also on the scene conducting its own independent investigation.
