Fatal mine accident investigated in Kanawha County
CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — The West Virginia Office of Miners’ Health Safety and Training (WVOMHS&T) is looking into a fatal mine accident. It happened at around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019.
According to a release from the WVOMHS&T, it happened at the Kanawha Eagle, LLC, South Hollow Preparation Plant in Kanawha County. The initial information from investigators indicated a plant electrician died from injuries received after an electric shock.
At this time there is no word on what led to the accident or the name of the victim. The investigation is still open.
