Today marks the 44th Anniversary of the first of the 2 explosions at Scotia, killing 15 miners. Two days later it exploded again killing 11 more with 2 survivors. This is the Mine I worked at and helped shape my future in mining and safety. It is fully ingrained in my brain as with many others.
