Safety Tidbits: 2-3

Personally my thanks for this one… it comes at a good time and bolsters my meaning of life. We all have things that are important to us in life, caring and loving for each other does not have a time clock or punch out after 8 hours….

Work
By Thomas Edison

I am wondering what would have happened to me if some fluent talker had converted me to the theory of the eight hour day and convinced me that it was not fair to my fellow workers to put forth my best efforts in my work. I am glad that the eight-hour day had not been invented when I was a young man.

If my life had been made up of eight-hour days, I do not believe I could have accomplished a great deal. This country would not amount to as much as it has if the young men of fifty years ago had been afraid that they might earn more than they were paid for.

We should all be grateful for the jobs we have (many of the unemployed would love to be in one of our situations) and be thankful for the work that comes with your position – the workload is what keeps us employed. Look for new ways to get more fulfilment from your job – Life is too short to work at a job you hate. If you are not fulfilled it may be time to re-evaluate your position. In the end remember a positive attitude makes all the difference.

It’s a new year, we have 11 months left to make a difference  – is it time for a new attitude? Life is what you make it… so go ahead, Enjoy Yourself!

And a bonus quote from Neal A. Maxwell:

“We should certainly count our blessings, but we should also make our blessings count.”

Thanks for the share, WK!
