Safety and Health Talks: Driving Distractions

Three Seconds is All it Takes.
80% of all crashes and 65% of all near-crashes recently studied by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute involved driver inattention within 3 seconds of the crash.

I asked the organization publishing the data below to clarify a few items, but haven’t had a response yet. Immediately below, for example, the last three behaviors show an increased risk of “1 times”. I think it meant that the risk doubled. This is the start of summer driving season. There’s a lot here that’s worthwhile. Check it out.
