Predictive Safety: Positive Changes you Can Make During Quarantine

How often do you take out your phone to check the weather, get distracted, play around for 30 minutes, and then put it away without ever checking the weather?

Or walk into a room, spin around, and forget why you’re in there?

Or go to the grocery store for a carton of milk and return home an hour later with a jar of pickles and a gallon of ice cream?

Maybe it’s just me.

But for all the other scatterbrains out there, here are 10 ways to sharpen your memory, and 10 ways to lengthen your attention span.

It’s usually pretty easy to identify people who have adapted these tactics and behaviors into their daily routines as they’re the ones who are the most energetic, on-task, and even appear to be more relaxed and cheerful.

I had a lot of success using these methods with my students when I worked as a teacher, and I’ve also noticed how greatly they’ve helped me stay focused and productive while working from home during quarantine.

So, let’s take this time of drastic global change as an opportunity to explore our daily routines and habits. As we continue to adjust our lives around the pandemic, let’s also introduce some positive changes into our lifestyles and come out of lock-down healthier and happier than when we went in.
