Where do we fit in? Seriously, with all the stuff we have going on personally and/or with everything going on around us; where do we fit in? Sure we’re responsible and careful to take care of what needs to be done, but when and where do we find the time for us? Being from Alabama and a huge fan of our Fort Payne’s country music superstars, I’m reminded of a few lyrics from one of Alabama’s greatest hits.
I’m in a hurry to get things done
Oh I rush and rush until life’s no fun
All I really gotta do is live and die
But I’m in a hurry and don’t know why…
They pretty much hit the nail on the head, don’t they? Three full verses of their recognized need for hurrying, speeding, and rushing – ALL FOR NOT! That’s right, when we really PAUSE, STOP, or BE STILL; we’ll see that most of this stuff isn’t nearly as important as we make it. I’m not saying don’t do it, I’m merely saying find the balance.
So for work/life balance and safety today, let’s all commit to taking a brief look at all our stuff and prioritize it – all but safety that is. Remember, safety is a value and as such it remains true regardless of our priorities and circumstances.
Thanks for reading, sharing, and for the occasional responses.
Thanks for the share, PT!
