Friends,

We all want to be held accountable for our work; perhaps the good more so than the bad, but accountable, nonetheless. Even if you thought “NOT” when you read that statement, it’s true. Think about it, even if we’re merely accountable to ourselves, we like to finish projects and even get a little associated recognition and/or satisfaction. I’m not saying that’s why we do everything, but it’s something everyone wants and maybe even needs. I was recently approached by a member of the clergy that shared a similar statement/need with me – who would have thought!?!?! In fact, it challenged me to change a little. I was brought up to work hard and for said work I’d get paid. That was all the “thanks” I needed. I’m afraid that’s a dying belief or characteristic these days; in fact, we all need to be more cognitive of showing our appreciation and gratitude in addition to giving our feedback when and where needed. It’s not a bad thing, just a little more “new to my norm”. 😊

With safety we need to recognize stellar performance as well. It’s important to reinforce good behaviors in hopes to sustain them. So here you go, you know who you are – THANKS! Seriously, thanks for doing the right things for the right reasons at work and at home.

As always, thanks for reading.

Thanks for the share PT!
