Poster: Why Safety

There should be a lot of “layers of protection” between us (individuals and teams) and the hazards; however, we (individuals and teams) sometimes fail to act in time to prevent contact. Human contact with a hazard more often than not ENDS IN INJURY. If we’re not actively controls hazards or using personal protective equipment correctly and consistently, we’ll error and eventually get injured. IT’S A STATISTICAL FACT!

SO WHY SAFETY? If we asked for a volunteer to get injured today – would any of us raise our hands? I THINK NOT! Of course we want to work injury-free, but do we put our effort where our mouth is?

Our goal today, is to place barriers between ourselves and hazards. Of course, eliminate the hazards when possible, but when they remain (and they often do) we need multiple layers of protection to prevent incidents and subsequent injuries from occurring.

Thanks for the share, PT!
