Poster: THINK

We are a safe bunch on purpose; however, NEVER SAFE ENOUGH!  Think about it, we’ve had several incidents that could have been prevented, yet we didn’t. Thankfully, no one was injured, but we need to step back and think about them. Two of which are of the upmost severity: Lock-Out/Tag-Out and Fall Protection. These unsafe behaviors can happen both on and off the job, please review for sharing purposes.

Remember…

  1. We lock out energy because when we don’t people die. – I could probably think of several ways to say that softer, but I choose not to. Before we expose ourselves to points of operation, moving equipment, and/or any other potentially injurious locations – WE NEED TO BE SURE!
  2. We use fall protection because when we don’t people die. – I can’t imagine having to respond to someone falling to their death because they chose not to wear it, forgot to put it on, and/or didn’t think it was necessary.  – At heights greater than 4’ – WE WEAR AND USE IT CORRECTLY!

NO EXCEPTIONS – NO EXCUSES!  These are just two of the many sure ways to heighten risk that aren’t necessary or acceptable.

Today is our next opportunity to live 100% injury-free – it’s a choice we all have to make. That’s going to require us to BE SURE (LOTO) and TO WEAR AND USE EQUIPMENT CORRECTLY (Fall Protection).

Thanks for the share, PT!
