Poster: Silly People

Have we ever done a silly something? Whether it ends safely or not so much; have we ever looked back on what we did and just have to say “wow!”? Be assured, I’ve done a few of those in my past as well. Silly things happen when we fail to plan properly or when we fail to communicate thoroughly. So as we strive in becoming the safest we can, we have to avoid silly mistakes, silly incidents, and silly injuries. I’ve used the word “silly” seven times already today because I want us all to see how avoidable and/or preventable incidents and especially injuries are when we all do the right things.

Almost all of us can see our err when we’re looking back on the incident/injury; however, world class safety champions see the conditions, actions, and attitudes that are setting us up or increasing the risk of incident BEFORE one occurs and takes action to prevent it. THAT’S WHERE WE NEED TO BE!

Safety is more than making right decisions; it’s understanding the what, where, when, why, and how; well enough to take predictive and preventative actions before incidents occur.

Thanks for the share, PT!
