We have a lot of seemingly silly laws, mainly because we have a lot of silly people, not because we have silly courts or silly judges. Every rule has an associated reason for it – even if we don’t necessarily agree with it. Rules keep us safe! I know – I know, everyone has an opinion and a story about that “one thing” or that “one exception”, but I’m mainly talking about safety here.
With safety, we make rules for a reason. Usually rules surround hazardous conditions and those rules are written (and enforced) in order to keep us from incident/injury.
If you think a rule is silly – SEEK TO UNDERSTAND IT and if it’s unnecessary or antiquated; get together with others to champion a change for the better.
Safety is continuous and continual improvement – starting with today!
Thanks for the share, PT!
