Poster: Remember this? From the Past

Did everyone recognize the pattern in the picture this morning; how’s that for a blast from the past? Sure, some of us might still use one of these, but I’m seeing less and less of them these days. I bet some of us can’t even remember/recognize what this represents. Okay, if we must, it’s a shifting pattern for a 5 speed standard transmission and the “R” for reverse is missing.

I blurb about this today to remind us that SAFETY IS NOT COMMON SENSE. Safety is not common knowledge! Safety is a learned skill and we need to be careful when “assuming” we all have the same understanding surrounding experiences. Communications and signage needs to be universal and discussed with all our teams for like understanding and effective learning.

Here’s a riddle for us…

What can we practice, share, teach, and act upon that’s has the ability to improve lives daily?  I’ll bet we all know that answer, it’s SAFETY of course.

Thanks for the share, PT!
