Even though our lives can feel out of control; usually they are not! What we need is to slow down, pause, Be Still, or perhaps even STOP for a minute. In that moment(s) take a deep breath and regroup. Consider talking about it to those involved or perhaps bring in some others, but in every case seek to gain perspective on whatever it is that’s giving us this feeling.
As for safety, same song different verse – KNOWING the task and WHY we’re doing it is critical. Understanding HOW to do it safely and WHAT is in place to protect us. WHO is going to be involved or effected by our actions and WHERE are all the controls in place. PLEASE HEAR THIS… Safety isn’t how we do a task! Safety is the way we understand everything about the task (upstream and down/forwards and backwards/inside and out) BEFORE becoming exposed to the risk. In short, safety is the WHY, HOW, WHAT, WHERE, and WHEN associated with any on or off the job task and event.
Our families and teammates are counting on us today!
Thanks for the share, PT!
