Know where your hands are! Pinch points are usually pretty easy to spot, aren’t they? Operational pinch points kind of stay the same and we’ve all gotten very good at identifying, eliminating, or guarding them for operating purposes, but the true test of hazard recognition greatness is when the pinch points change due to maintenance activities. It’s not a one and done; it’s look, watch, understand, and look, watch, and understand some more – continuously throughout the job or task.
Pinch points cause amputations, fractures, contusions, and pain. There is no job so important that we can’t take the time to complete it safely!
