Friends,
What makes us effective as safety leaders? I’m sure we could make a list that covers many pages. I believe there are 3 key characteristics; however, I’d like to hear yours as well. Shoot me a note if you have time. Mine are 1) Listens for understanding, 2) Leads by example, and 3) Empowers others. I could write brief narratives for these, but I think everyone will understand them. I’m sure plenty agree and disagree; however, there are no wrong answers. Our perceptions are built on what we’d like to see and/or be in a leader.
The same exercise goes with safety leaders as well. What do you like in a leader AND what would others say about you?
Thanks for the share PT!
