I’d say we’re pretty good at hazard identification and excellent at hazard control. Kudos to everyone for their ongoing efforts to that end; however our biggest opportunity is in prevention. Hazard prevention is often the piece to the hazard puzzle that we look past or forget until the incident occurs and then we see it and fix it.
Hazard prevention comes from KNOWING, UNDERSTANDING, and ACTING in a way that sets up a process, task, or procedure that is HAZARD FREE. It’s not waiting on incidents to occur – it’s acting BEFORE an incident actually takes place.
– Let’s make it the most safe today ever!
