Team –
Are we going about the right things for the right reasons? If not, there is still time to change. Of course the right things are the safe things and our personal and team excellence demands that we make these self-checks routinely to keep us all calibrated on the same path heading toward the same goals. ZERO INJURIES is and will continue to be our daily target.

Injuries occur when we (individuals, supervisors, leaders) tolerate less than perfectly safe behaviors. I’ve had some conversations lately with people who think “injuries are just going to happen” and in that thought they will. ALL INJURIES ARE PREVENTABLE! I didn’t say it was easy or that I have all the answers in the moment, but think about it – > approximately 95% of all injuries occur because of a failure to recognize, understand, and/or act.

1. Are we good at recognizing hazards? Let’s work to be great!
2. Do we understand most of the tasks, equipment, and procedures? Let’s work to understand more!
3. Do we act correctly and in time to prevent incidents/injuries? Let’s act more timely and accurately to PREVENT the conditions that enable incidents to occur.

Let’s be better today than we were yesterday! Let’s be safe on purpose!

Thanks for the share PT!
