Hazard awareness, hazard recognition, and/or hazard identification are all for not if/when we’re not aware or cannot recognize or identify hazards. It’s pretty simple – IF WE CAN’T SEE THEM, WE CAN’T FIX THEM! Do we ever fix a problem only to create another? Do we consider our actions and their consequences BEFORE acting?

Can you see the problem in the picture above? Some might say that one row of carts is missing a bollard stop or others might say the yellow paint on the one that is there is faded. But what’s the real hazard here? The reality is we all need to practice our skills every day; whether at home or work. Hazard recognition is a skill that we NEED in order to sustain a world class safety culture.

Today is a great day for action – one safe act at a time!

Thanks for the share, PT!
