Our hands are our greatest tools; however, we’re working hard to minimize their direct contact to parts and equipment. No-Touch tools are becoming more and more prevalent in our facilities due to the recognition of so many common causes for hand injuries. Sure we have gloves to help protect us, but they can only do so much. Honestly, we need our heads to protect our hands. Knowing where are hands are AND where they’re going BEFORE we move them is key and that requires our thinking skills.
We have to protect ourselves, there aren’t any gloves or tools that can do that for us. Remember, understanding the lift, push, pull, action, and equipment’s functions are just the beginnings of hand protection.
Today is our next opportunity for greatness; let’s make it a big round ZERO!
