Friends,
We can’t presume we or any others will know how to use a fire extinguisher during an emergency. It takes training and refreshing every so often to ensure our readiness. Let’s do a quick training here today since I found this cool labeled extinguisher on someone’s social media account earlier this week. Take a quick look at identifiers above; find the Locking Pin & Seal, Lever, Handle, and Nozzle.

In the event of fire, use the PASS method to recall the process. Pull the pin, Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire, Squeeze the lever toward the handle, and Sweep from side to side. In review, PULL, AIM, SQUEEZE, and SWEEP.

3 Things to Remember:
1. If the fire is too big or we don’t feel confident in our skills to operate the extinguisher, immediate notify others and/or activate the local EMS (911).
2. The nozzle pulls away from the body so that you can hold the extinguisher upright while sweeping side to side with the nozzle.
3. Always review the specific device(s) in our area (home, office, church, etc.) to make certain they are as ready as we are to fight the fire.

I hope this was helpful. Thanks for reading and in advance for everyone’s willingness and readiness to help in the event of an emergency.

Thanks for the share PT!
