Here’s a gem I found floating around in social media last night and wanted to share my thoughts. Based on the picture above; do they know better and just don’t care? Have they had training? Is this something they were taught, or did they figure it out for themselves? It’s downright scary to me! The thought that at least three of them could have died that day concerns me. The biggest problem is that when our silliness (aka stupidity) goes unchecked, it becomes the ‘accepted practice’ and perhaps even the norm.
As for us, would we say something? Would we stop the madness? Would we be willing to demand they stop the unsafe behaviors and actions immediately? Our desire to do the right thing coupled with our courage to speak up makes us safety champions. People don’t always want to hear it, but its our duty to say it anyway. By the way, this is a classic wrong tool/equipment for the job.
Thanks for acting correctly and in time to prevent incidents and special thanks for reading this blurb. – Paul
Thanks for the share, PT!
