I don’t know about everyone else, but all these precautions, worries, mixed opinions, and attitudes are tiresome. For example, I stopped by a local establishment on Saturday to get a few things and the person working the self-checkout lanes wasn’t wearing a mask. As she was moving around freely in the area, I felt led to share my feelings. I was obviously not the first person to mention it, because she immediately replied with all her beliefs to the contrary. In fact she told me exactly what she felt about wearing masks and that if “she catches it – she catches it.” I politely reminded her that her mask protects me and all the others along her journey as well. Her manager quickly intervened and apologized on the store’s behalf.
But why not mask? People are talking about negative health effects and referencing “respirator” studies. These surgical masks and/or facial coverings are not respirators. We are using them merely to keep our viruses to ourselves and who knows… maybe protect ourselves a little from others along the way. Every little bit helps!
Remember, don’t go to work sick. If you’re displaying signs and/or symptoms of an illness, call it in and talk to your company’s COVID representative or HR. It’s okay to be fed-up; it’s just not okay to remain unprotected.
Thanks to everyone for their ongoing efforts to remain illness and injury free.
Thanks for the share, PT!
