It’s been nearly a week since I’ve blurbed about COVID-19. Make no mistake about it, I have NOT moved on nor believe it’s behind us; I just needed a little sunshine in the midst of the storm. The fact is, the numbers are rising and that means different things to different people. As safety champions, we need to be concerned with the health as well as the safety of ourselves and others. We’ve discussed before that when we’re sick, we’re operating at a lessened capacity, we’re more susceptible to err and injury and our minds don’t always stay of task.
So for today and our immediate future let’s follow the “preventative instructions” given to us by our medical and political leaders. Let’s reduce risk! While we can’t say for 100% certainty how or when we’ll need protection, we know the virus is in our midst and being the safety minded people we are – we should be doing any and everything imaginable to protect ourselves, our families, and teammates, and our communities.
Washing our hands, stop touching our face, cleaning all surfaces, physical distancing, and masking remain the top five ways to reduce potential exposures.
Let’s make safety intentional today and as always, THANKS!
Thanks for the share, PT!
