Poster: Complacency

Today’s pic comes all the way from Italy and is being shared on behalf of ML. He’s vacationing there and sent me this classic as a reminder about texting and driving. It’s a fact that people are dying due to distracted drivers. This is complacency at its finest; because the boat operator is not expecting change – he’s comfortable in his role and this enables him to “do other things” while driving. Sure he might be incident-free most of the time, but anything less than 100% is in error. It’s just a matter of time before a failure creeps in.

When we’re thinking about safety, we see the hazards whether we’re at work or 5000 miles from it. Special thanks to M for sharing the pic and a reminder.
