Here we are in 2020; where does time go!? We’re perfect for this year and we need to decide right now that we’re going to everything within our own personal power to keep us this way. Perfection does NOT come from merely practicing, it comes from practicing perfection. What I mean is that we can’t just be “going through the motions” or “on today and off tomorrow;” our perfect safety requires intentional actions toward the same.

We’re starting pre-shift safety meetings and these meetings are intended to bring us together for a few minutes to share in a common message, a common review, a common plan, and a checkup for ourselves and for each other. Every shift / every day! I don’t know about y’all, but I’m excited about the opportunities this will bring.

Hazard Recognition is one of – if not the most important abilities we have for our personal safety and success. Being able to identify/recognize a hazardous situation, condition, or behavior BEFORE it enables an incident is a learned skill. A skill we need to practice daily to improve and eventually perfect. Take a minute to think about some hazards you’ve missed in the past. Now commit to sharing those stories with others to help them improve their skills alike.

Let’s make this our greatest (aka SAFEST) year ever! By the way, our year begins today.

Thanks for the share, PT!
