Musculoskeletal Stress on Miners Performing Roof Screening Operations

Coal miners work in a hazardous environment where they are frequently exposed to poor roof conditions that put them at risk of a rock fall injury. Currently, very few coal mines in the Eastern U.S. install protective roof screens, though most Western longwall development sections make extensive use of screen.
