After the worker falls, the distance between the anchor point and the bottom of the workers feet will be the sum of the lanyard length, the shock-absorbing stretch and the distance between the D-ring and the bottom of the worker’s feet (6+4+5=15). If this sum exceeds the distance between the anchor point and the ground, the worker will hit the ground before the fall is completely arrested (stopped).
