Be careful about how you interpret "Guarded by Location." Areas around pinch points where material buildup occurs can change the situation into a serious problem if the buildup allows a worker to get within 7 feet of the hazard. Remember – just following the standards may not be enough. Although MSHA standards allow unguarded pinch points outside the 7-foot limit, guarding may still be required for reasonable safety.
