Last night I went to dinner with my wife, daughter, and a friend at a local restaurant. I caught myself being a little distracted by a couple brothers sitting in one corner of the restaurant. They were on their phones the entire time – in fact, even while they we eating they never spoke to each other. Communication; whether on or off the job is a critical part of anything. Especially for understanding safety expectations. Clear communications are critical to ensure our safety as well as the safety of anyone else effected by our activities.
Let’s all commit to paying a little more attention to the task at hand. Let’s also be mindful that in some cases those around us might not be as attentive to the safety details.
