DEHydration in Underground Miners Australia

There are a number of well-documented physiological problems associated with loss of total body water (dehydration) in humans. Miners working in hot conditions can have very high sweat rates and suffer significant loss of body weight during the course of their working shift. Data has been collected on the hydration status of miners from several metal mines. Sweat rates and fluid consumption rates have also been measured. Click here to read more.
