Cannabis and the Workplace- NSC

Canabis and the Workplace:

As of November 2020, 36 states, the District of Columbiai and four territories have approved medical cannabis laws, and 15 states, the District of Columbiaii and three territories have approved recreational cannabis use. The federal government, however, classifies cannabis as a Schedule I drug under the Controlled Substances Act. Schedule I drugs are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for misuse. Regardless of whether cannabis is considered legal by a state government, it remains an illegal drug under federal law in all circumstances – a medical cannabis card is not classified as a legitimate medical explanation for a positive drug test under federal drug testing regulations.
