In this edition of the Labor Ledger, we feature a guest column by Harriet Hopkins, administrator of NCDOL’s Retaliatory Employment Discrimination Bureau (REDB), who explains the resources the REDB provides to employees and what actually constitutes employment discrimination.
We also welcome another guest columnist, Recognition Program Manager LaMont Smith, to give us a rundown of the 25th annual Carolina Star Safety Conference that was held in Greensboro.

Novartis Technical Operations Earns Third Star Recertification
Novartis, a manufacturer of generic prescription drugs, was awarded the third Carolina Star award at their Wilson facility. Commissioner Dobson was on hand to present the acrylic Star award to employees and company leadership.

The Carolina Star Safety Conference celebrated 25 consecutive years of being held. The event was held Sept. 14-16 in Greensboro at the Joseph S. Koury Convention Center.
