Welcome to NCDOL’s new Labor Ledger Digest. In addition to a bi-monthly newsletter, we will send out monthly digests of stories and content not featured in the regular Labor Ledger. The Ledger Digest contains snippets of information and FYI sections that highlight safety awareness campaigns and helpful resources to employers and employees. Western Carolina University Celebrates Completion of New Campus Steam Plant

After more than a hundred years the old steam plant facility provided hot water, heat and electricity to the entire campus. Commissioner Dobson visited WCU to join Chancellor Kelli Brown for a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the completion of the steam plant

Metcon Awarded Building Star Recertifiation
On Oct. 12, Commissioner Dobson presented Metcon, Inc. with the acrylic Carolina Star for their continued partnership with NCDOL in combatting workplace injury and illness.

Congratulations to Snap-On Tools for 10 Years of Being SHARP Certified

Snap-On Tools were first awarded the SHARP designation back in June 2010. On Oct. 15, Commissioner Dobson traveled to Snap-On’s Murphy production facility to personally congratulate them during their employee appreciation event. Congratulations, everyone!
